What could be more romantic than something beautiful to look at, something delicious to drink, and to share it with the one you love? In honor of Valentine's Day weekend, Cellar 55 Tasting Room is offering an artisan craft show from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1812 Washington St. in Vancouver's Uptown Village area.
The craft show will feature handmade wares from more than 10 local artisans. Vendors include AKC Images (photography, direct-to-wood prints), Designs by Debbie (jewelry and wine charms), Manja Creations (pasta and gourmet chocolates), Evy from the Heart (jewelry); Origami Owl (original, custom jewelry), Fouresse (gourmet olive oils and aged basalmic vinegars), and C’est la Vie (sweet and savory pastries and hot spiced cider). And here's a marvelous bonus: there's no admission charge! Support your local artists while drinking fabulous Washington wines.
If you've already got plans for Sunday but are still looking for the perfect Valentine's Day spot, Cellar 55 is also offering an evening event with music, chocolate and more art—and more wine, naturally!—from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. Musician Anthony Utehs will be serenading sippers with romantic acoustic guitar music, and original art from Chris Eagon will be on display. But the romance doesn't stop there: sample the sumptuous "Brownies from Heaven," made by Bleu Door Bakery, which will be paired for your tasting pleasure with carefully chosen wines. (Yes, of course brownies and wine go together!)
Come early and catch the last 30 minutes of happy hour, which happens every Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. (and from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 4 to 6 p.m. on Sundays). All glasses of wine are discounted $1 to $1, and all appetizers are $1 less.
