Art Demo, Book Signing, Trivia Night & More at Burnt Bridge Cellars

Artist Sue Clancy will be at Burnt Bridge Cellars at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, to sign books and demonstrate how she creates her marvelous dog-centric art. Clancy’s art has been featured in the Burnt Bridge Cellars tasting room for the past couple of months, and this is the last weekend for her show.

Clancy, a fine artist and author/illustrator, pattern designer, makes handmade paper patterns, cuts one-of-a-kind paper shapes with an Xacto knife, and glues them together with her imagination and love of fun and laughter into a new visual story. She carries this playfulness into everything she does—whether for exhibit at an art gallery, an illustration, a pattern design, a public art project, a book, or an image for publication. Wherever Clancy goes, she makes notes and drawings with a fountain pen, and these notes and doodles inspire her art.

While you’re enjoying Clancy’s art, you can also enjoy Burnt Bridge Cellars’ Thursday Happy Hour, which happens every Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. Guests can enjoy reduced prices on glass pours of some of Burnt Bridge Cellar’s best-selling wines.

But wait, there’s more: you can come back for the Friday Night Trivia Contest from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 28. (It’s worth noting that Burnt Bridge Cellars’ air conditioning works really well, and that the tasting room also features a patio, in case you want to enjoy the late-evening summer breezes while sipping your Syrah.) The trivia quiz will be about all things wine related…or maybe not! As usual, winners will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous prize (or two). All of wines will be available for glass pours.

Finally, you can also come back on Saturday and Sunday for flights of five different wines from 1 to 5 p.m. on both days. The cost is $10 and is refundable if you buy a bottle of wine. Or, if you join the wine club, you can come in any Saturday or Sunday afternoon for a complimentary wine flight!

There’s lots more happening at Burnt Bridge Cellars this summer…visit their website at www.burntbridgecellars.com or their Facebook page to stay up-to-date with what’s happening. Burnt Bridge Cellars is located at 1500 Broadway Street with limited free off-street parking available.

Trivia Night at Burnt Bridge Cellars

There’s a new game in town, and it’s Trivia Night at Burnt Bridge Cellars. Come to this beautiful urban winery and tasting room in downtown Vancouver on Friday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 9 p.m. to test your knowledge of Burnt Bridge wine and win fabulous prizes…probably involving wine. If you want to get an edge on the competition, you can study up by visiting the Burnt Bridge Cellars website at www.burntbridgecellars.com, where you’ll learn things like how the tasting room got its name.

If, after you taste some Burnt Bridge wine, you feel like you need MORE Burnt Bridge wine, come back from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, for live music with guitarist Kevin Moon, who writes his own intricate, elegant, rock-inspired melodies. Moon has spent 20 years playing in bands and another decade (or so) as a solo artist. His current shows consist of original material he calls “chamber rock” interspersed with selected covers of favorite pieces. Moon also builds his own guitars, restores the vintage tube amps he plays—and in his “real” job, he’s a synthesizer designer.

Burnt Bridge Cellars is located at 1500 Broadway in downtown Vancouver.
