Music Jam

Sunflower Festival & Music Jam at Heisen House

The eighth annual Sunflower Festival & Music Jam is bursting into bloom on Saturday, Aug. 26, from noon to 9 p.m. at the picturesque Heisen House Vineyards. In addition to lots of fresh sunflowers, dried sunflower arrangements, and sunflower-themed items for sale, the festival features live music all day by some of the area’s most popular folk, blues, jazz, and bluegrass bands. Scheduled performers include Marianne Flemming, Hazel and Kathleen, Mollie and Me, Mel Sutherland, Dan Dingman, and Echoes of Yasgurs. There will also be an arts and crafts bazaar, food and—of course—wine tasting! All ages are welcome.

Heisen House Vineyards is located on a registered National and State Historic Site, so while you sip wine, browse the local wares, and take in the gorgeous country views, you’ll also be drinking in a bit of history. The Henry Heisen House and outbuildings offer a glimpse into what life was like during the pioneer era. There’s no admission charge, but there’s a suggested donation of $5 per adult—money that will be used towards improvements and restoration of this beautiful and historic piece of land. Heisen House is located at 28005 N.E. 172nd Ave., just outside of Battle Ground and not too far from the East Fork of the Lewis River.
