“Moon Over the Brewery” is a new play that’s opening at the Magenta Theater in downtown Vancouver on Friday, June 9, with showings through June 24—but you might want to make a point to come see the play on Thursday, June 15, since proceeds from this performance will benefit the Arts of Clark County. Wanna plot teaser? OK, here goes:
Miriam Waslyk (Rebecca Hoffman) is a single mother who uses moonlight to help enhance the drab surroundings of the Pennsylvania coal town in her artwork. Her desire to find a husband is thwarted by her teenage daughter Amanda (Kelci Fuller), a genius with an imaginary friend (Phillip McKaughan) feeding her devilish behavior. Will Miriam’s latest beau (Tony Provenzola) be able to match wits with Amanda’s psychological warfare or will he be able to win the hearts of both mother and daughter?
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on June 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, and 23, and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays, June 17 and 24. Tickets are $20 per person. Click here to purchase tickets online. The Magenta Theater is located at 1108 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. To learn more, visit www.magentatheater.com.
