The Year of the Rooster is about to begin, and the Vietnamese Community of Clark County invites you to celebrate this auspicious year during their biggest annual cultural event, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.mm. on Saturday, Jan. 21. The event is free and open to the public, and will include live music, performances from local and professional artists, traditional dances, children’s activities, Vietnamese food, and more. The family-friendly festival will be held at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School, 2921 Falk Rd. in Vancouver.
The Vietnamese lunar new year celebration is a huge annual festival in Vietnam known as Tết Nguyên Đán (or Tết for short). The phrase means “the first morning of the first day,” and it’s the most important celebration of Vietnamese culture during the entire year.
The Vietnamese Community of Clark County works to support the local Vietnamese American community and enrich Clark County’s multicultural heritage. To learn more, visit www.vncc.org.
