Battle Ground's Chamber of Commerce is launching a new program called "Passport to Battle Ground," beginning Memorial Day weekend. "Passport to Battleground" provides well-appointed coach busses and limousines for tour-takers to comfortably see the area in and around Battle Ground with seven stops to hop off and enjoy shopping, sightseeing, local fare, and wine tasting. Busses and limosines, provided by Silver Limousine Service, will run approximately on the hour beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24. Stops include Mill Creek Pub, Old Town Battle Grounds, Emanar Cellars in Battle Ground Village, Rusty Grape Vineyards, Battle Ground Lake State Park, Heisen House Vineyard, and Olequa Cellars.
Passports, which are given either as a smartphone app or in paper format, are $29.99 per person and that includes all transportation costs. The tour begins at Best Western Plus Battle Ground Inn and Suites, located at 1419 W. Main St. in Battle Ground. Transportation will run once each hour to all stops. Your wristband allows you to get on and off unlimited times at the designated locations. The last trip for pick-up will begin at 5 p.m.
Itineneraries for future passport trips include guided tours of historic sites, wine excursions, "foodie" tours, shopping outings, mountain adventures, and even romance tours—all featuring beautiful, delicious, historic, and picturesque Battle Ground. And here's a bonus: travelers who collect 10 stamps in their passports will be entered in a prize drawing. Only 50 passports will be given for the day, so registration is required. To get your passport, call the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce at 360-687-1510.
