The venerated Attic Gallery of contemporary art in downtown Camas is hosting its First Annual Local Artists Invitational Exhibit during the month of July, with an opening reception on First Friday, July 7, where you can meet most of the artists in person from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit features one or more works by each of 12 local artists, including watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings by Kathy Backman, Hilarie Couture, Laura Bray, Tommer Gonser, Anna Norris, Liz Pike, Mike Smith, and Heidi Jo Curley; and porcelain, ceramics, bronze and steel sculptures by Chris Fackler-Lowery, Ann Fleming, Ted Norris, and Angela Ridgway. There will also be live demonstrations of plein air painting by Anna Norris and ceramic wheel throwing by Ted Norris.
Guests can chat with the artists about their work, their process, and their inspiration, and get an up-close look at some of the very best contemporary art in the Northwest. There will also be live music and light refreshments.
Attic Gallery is located at 421 N.E. Cedar St. in downtown Camas. Regular gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment. To learn more, visit atticgallery.com.
