Council for the Homeless

Open Mic Night at Salmon Creek Burgervilee

Do you sing, read poetry, or play the kazoo? Whatever thing you do, you’re invited to do it any time from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Salmon Creek Burgerville. It’s Open Mic Night, a chance for the community to come together and show off their mad skillz while raising money for the Council for the Homeless. Burgerville will donate 15% of sales on Saturday night to the Housing Relief Fund to help local homeless families move into a home during the holidays.

Participants will each be given ten- to 15-minute sessions to share their talent or skill. Past performances have included guitarists, vocalists, rappers, cellists, and ukulele players. (Beat that for entertainment value!) The sound system will be all set up and ready for you to go, and DJ services will be provided by DJ Glenn. For more details or to add your name to the list, contact Tony Fleck at 360-573-8223 or tonyf@burgerville.com.

If you’d like to support the cause but don’t like the limelight, you can grab a table and some golden Yukon waffle fries to enjoy the show, come to the drive-through window during event hours, or simply stop by to make a donation. You can even donate online by clicking here. The Salmon Creek Burgerville is located at 13309 N.E. Highway 99 in Vancouver.
