Three Creeks Community Library welcomes artist Lynda Raven Brake for a free Art Talk and Reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5. Brake’s astonishingly realistic watercolor paintings will be displayed in the library’s magazine room and meeting area throughout the month of May.
Brake, whose work has been exhibited in many Texas and New Mexico galleries, has a BFA degree in studio art from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She was a signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and their exhibit chair for two years. She also has a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Brake moved to Vancouver seven years ago and is an active member of the Oregon Society of Artists and a juried member of the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society, where she serves as chair for Art in the Community. She’s also a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and the Washington Society of Artists. Locally, Brake’s work has been shown in Battle Ground, Vancouver, Gresham, and Portland.
