This event, open to the public, is a chance for horses and their owners to compete in areas such as Western Equitation, Showmanship, and English Equitation, and for owners and trainers to vie for top honors in showing their geldings, mares, stallions, stock horses, hunters, and others. For a complete schedule of what’s happening when, click here. The show is one in a series, with additional shows on Feb. 18-19 and March 11-12.

Admission to the Winter Woolies Horse Show is free, and the parking fee is waived. The show will be held in the Dr. Jack Giesy Equestrian Arena and starts at 8 a.m. each day. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 22, the Clark County Executive Horse Council will host a tack sale and bazaar for new and used horse-related items, where you can purchase everything from stirrups and saddles to riding breeches, boots, and tail ribbons. Proceeds from the sale will go towards scholarships for local riders.

The event is sponsored by the Clark County Executive Horse Council, a nonprofit organization that serves Clark County’s many equestrian groups, providing a community forum where businesses and individuals can meet, share, educate and promote equine actives throughout Clark County and beyond. The council promotes the benefits of working with and caring for horses, both for pleasure and professionally, and works together to educate, encourage and develop equine enthusiast of all ages and skill levels.
