A Romantic First Friday at Luepke’s Flowers & Finds
February 3, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it…and First Friday at Luepke Flowers & Finds will get you inspired with fresh flowers, vibrant colors, and sheer creativity. Come by any time from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, for a bit of bubbly and a lot of beauty.
Luepke’s featured artist for February’s First Friday Artwalk is watercolorist Katey Sandy, who finds inspiration from nature’s shapes, colors, and textures, letting each composition unfold and change as she paints. Sandy uses a variety of approaches and enjoys experimentation during the process of creation, resulting in true expressionist pieces—Sandy’s in-the-moment interpretation of her inner life and her subject, arising spontaneously from her interaction with the canvas and the medium. Sandy is a member of the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society, the Washington Society of Artist, Columbian Art Association, and Mosaic Art Alliance. She teaches abstract painting and montage design for the Mature Learning Program at Clark College.
While you’re enjoying Sandy’s watercolor paintings, you can sip some complimentary sparkling wine and peruse Luepke’s large but thoughtful selection of fresh flowers to take home and liven up your wintertime table. Better yet, order a custom Valentine’s arrangement, and choose some Moonstruck chocolates, scented candles, handpainted silk scarves, or handmade jewelry by local artists to go with your flowers. Luepke’s has also just gotten a new shipment of home décor items such as clocks, vases, boxes and other treasures.
