Pumpkin Harvest Festival in downtown Washougal

October 19, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Local families are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and pick out their very own free pumpkins at the Downtown Washougal Pumpkin Harvest Festival, happening from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Reflection Plaza on Main Street. There will be refreshments, a Halloween Hunt, games, prizes, treats and entertainment.

Ripe orange pumpkins ready for carving will be harvested for the event from Wahsougal’s city garden plot, just behind City Hall. The pumpkins are the result of a real community effort: students from Washougal School District worked to start the seedlings. City councilmembers and volunteers then planted and cared for the growing pumpkins to ensure a good harvest in time for the event.

The event is getting an extra boost this year from the Downtown Washougal Association. The DWA has organized a Halloween Hunt, taking families to Main Street businesses to search for Halloween images posted in the store. For each image found, raffle tickets will be awarded, giving the ticketholders a chance to win one of several gift baskets filled with Washougal merchandise. Downtown stores will have free candy on hand for the kids (because your kids REALLY NEED MORE CANDY), and everyone is encouraged to come in costume.
