Last Tuesdays Poetry at Barnes & Noble
April 29, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Perhaps you attended the most recent Ghost Town Poetry night at Cover to Cover Books, but you left feeling hungry for even more poetry. That's as it should be, because we have another poetry-packed event for you: Last Tuesdays Poetry at the Vancouver Barnes & Noble. Here's what you can expect:
Carlos Reyes will read from his latest book: "Pomegranate, Sister of the Heart," and from his book of translated poetry, "Poems of Love and Madness." (That sounds promising, doesn't it?) Reyes has served as poet-in-residence at Main's Acadia National Park and at The Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming. (We bet you didn't know that parks and monuments even had poets! Neither did we, but we're certain it's a good thing.) In addition to his original writing, Reyes translates poetry from Spanish to English.
But wait, there's more! Cecelia Hagen will read from "Entering," her first full-length collection. Her poems, essays, and reviews have been widely published. Hagen teaches poetry and memoir-writing in Eugene, as well as studying tango.
