Independence Day at Fort Vancouver
July 4, 2017Free!
It’s almost time for the Couve’s biggest, most glorious celebration: Independence Day at the Fort. This annual tradition has been going on for over 50 years, with an exceptional fireworks display, live entertainment, food and craft vendors, and fun for the whole family. The best, however, is yet to come! Using state-of-the-art fireworks synchronized to music, the 2017 display will once again be launched from Pearson Field, providing attendees an amazing and exciting fireworks show.
The Fort Vancouver National Trust —which organizes and hosts the event ever year, along with community sponsors and partners and a vast army of volunteers—invites you to the Fort Vancouver Historic Site on the Fourth of July to view one of the best fireworks displays around. For the first time in many years, there’s no entrance fee. The event, which officially begins at 6 p.m. with live entertainment on the main stage, is once again completely free. (Donations, however, are most welcome in order to offset costs and keep the fireworks coming back, year after year.)
Bring your family, along with blankets and chairs and a picnic dinner (but no alcohol, please), and come down in the evening to claim your spot. Better yet, come earlier to enjoy the beautiful Fort Vancouver parade grounds, where vendors will be on site all day selling food and other fun things. Stroll along Officer’s Row or grab a bite to eat at Eatery at the Grant House. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy one of Vancouver’s most beloved traditions: a mind-blowingly giant fireworks display!
Prime Viewing ticket holders will have access to the exclusive Prime Viewing area, where they will be treated to a tasty 4th of July picnic dinner and a front row view to the spectacular fireworks show! Click on this Prime Viewing link for more information.
