Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night with Mike G. & Rob Katsuno

December 8, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night is prancing into town on tiny deer feet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, at Angst Gallery. The evening is open to anyone with poetry to share; sign-ups start at 6:30 and last until the show starts at 7 p.m. The featured guests this month are Mike G and Rob Katsuno. Nibbles and wine will be provided by Angst’s next-door neighbor, Niche Wine Bar, and Briz Loan & Guitar is donating their expertise and equipment to make sure everyone’s mic is turned on and you can hear what the Couve’s best poets are laying down.

Mike G has been writing, in fun and in earnest, for quite some time, and performing publicly is a celebration of the sanity he maintains through the process. He’s read some poems on KBOO, and has had some poems published. He vows to “clown and rant” until he’s dead, which we hope won’t be for a long time now.

Katsuno—something of a local legend in the Couve—has been employed as a Boeing jet design engineer, a Mitsubishi joint venture broker, a Morgan Stanley investment banker in NY and Tokyo. He holds an MBA from UCLA and currently works as a Ameriprise financial advisor. In 2011 he received third place in the Willamette Writers Kay Snow Writing Contest. He is also a talented performer who has appeared at BackfencePDX and United Solo, America’s largest solo performance festival in Theatre Row, NY. For more information about Rob, visit robkatsuno.com

Angst Gallery is located at 1015 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. For more information, visit angstgallery.com. To learn more about the monthly Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Nights, visit printedmattervancouver.com.
