Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night
August 11, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night makes a splash on the local arts scene at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, when the monthly poetry meet-up’s featured poet will be Oregon Coast native Celeste Gurevich. Her work has been published in “Perceptions: A Magazine for the Arts,” the Manifest-Station, “Whatever Works: Feminists of Faith Speak,” and “The International Journal of Gender, Nature, and Transformation.” She is currently a member of the Dangerous Writers Workshop and is working on her first book. She is a mother and grandmother, grower of extravagant flowers and self-styled Crazy Bird Lady. To learn more, you can follow her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CelesteDesmaraisGurevich.
Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night happens on the second Thursday of every month at Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. Small plates and wine are provided by Niche Wine Bar. The evening, hosted by Christopher Luna and Toni Lumbrazo Luna of Printed Matter Vancouver, is open to everyone and entirely uncensored, as it has been since 2004. (Hey, with a room full of poets, you never know WHAT could happen!) For more information about this and other poetry-related events and projects in Clark County, contact Luna at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-910-1066.
