Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night
January 14, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
On a frosty, moonlit winter night, nothing stirs the soul like poetry—except for maybe wine and good company. You’ll find all three at the next Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night, happening at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at Angst Gallery. This month’s Ghost Town features local poet of note David Nelson, whose work can be read in the recently published chapbook come/down. Ghost Town’s additional but no less illustrious guest is the poète savant Nathan Tompkins, whose writings have been featured in NonBinary Review, Yellow Chair Review, and Crab Fat Magazine. He is also the author of four chapbooks: Junk Mail of the Heart, The Dog Stops Here, A Song of Chaos, and Lullabies to a Whiskey Bottle.
The evening will feature small plates and libations (yup, the fun kind) from Niche Wine & Art Bar, right next door to Angst at 1013 Main Street. Ghost Town Poetry is LGBTQ-friendly, uncensored, and open to all ages (with parental discretion advised). Ghost Town has been meeting monthly to read and discuss contemporary poetry since 2004.
