Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night
October 8, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Ghost Town Poetry Open Mic Night, hosted by Christopher Luna and Toni Partington, will be rattling its chains at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. This month’s special guest is ‘Couve native Sarah Webb, who now lives in Texas Hill Country with her hound dog, Rex, and gives frequent readings in Oklahoma and Texas. Her poetry collection, Black, was selected as a finalist for the 2014 Oklahoma Book Award and the 2014 Writers’ League of Texas Book Award. Webb served as poetry editor for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s interdisciplinary journal Crosstimbers for many years, and is currently a member of the editorial committee for All Roads Will Lead You Home and a co-editor of Just This, a magazine of the Zen arts.
This evening of poetry-out-loud will feature small plates and libations (yup, the fun kind) from Niche Wine & Art Bar, right next door to Angst at 1013 Main Street. Ghost Town Poetry is LGBTQ-friendly, uncensored, and open to all ages (with parental discretion advised). Ghost Town has been meeting to read and discuss contemporary poetry since 2004.
