Front Porch Storytelling
November 12, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Autumn is the time to gather ’round the fire, get cozy, and listen to some really good stories. Get things started at The Front Porch storytelling event, happening from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Captain Strong Primary School, located at 1002 N. 6th Ave. in Battle Ground. This is the next installment of Battle Ground’s community story series, and this season’s stories—told by six local storytellers—feature narratives with a Thanksgiving theme.
This is an all-ages, family-friendly event with a range of storytelling talent. There will also be live music by perennial favorite Lincoln’s Beard, cake bombs from Killa Bites (courtesy of Mill Creek Pub), and really good coffee from Compass Coffee. Front Porch will also be collecting donations for Adventist Community Services, so bring winter clothes for kids in all sizes.
Front Porch is sponsored and organized by the Battle Ground Mentor Collaborative and is made possible by its local business partners: Battle Ground Burgerville, Battle Ground United Methodist Church, Full Circle Driving School, Columbia Kids Preschool/Sprouting Seeds Learning Community, Gaither & Sons, Elite Auto Body, Artisan Academy, Battle Ground Foursquare Church and the Old Town Battle Ground Association. The Battle Ground Mentor Collaborative is a coalition of over 120 organizations and people in the North Clark County area who are working together to give young people a greater sense of purpose, value, and belonging, and stories are an important way to foster a feeling of connectedness.
