First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Vancouver
October 6, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Downtown Vancouver’s next First Friday Artwalk—from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6—will be something to crow about! Stroll around town and enjoy complementary refreshments, live music, original art, good food, great shopping, and some of the top-notch new eateries that are popping up all over downtown Vancouver these days (check out the new Little Conejo tacos and mezcal on 114 W. 6th St., next door to Nonavo Pizza). To get a handle on everything that’s happening this month, download the First Friday Hotsheet and walking map so you won’t miss any good stuff!
Highlights include political portraits by graffiti artist Bryan Helfrich at Angst Gallery; landscapes by Chuck Sites and Harry Wheeler at Art on the Boulevard; two art exhibits at Boomerang, “Men at Art” and the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society Fall Show; guitar music by Doug Smith, along with quilt and textile art at Burnt Bridge Cellars; limited edition Halloween-inspired fragrances at Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie; pastels, landscapes, and flowers by C. Snyder at Luepke Flowers & Finds; a pop-up shop with local jewelry designer Crystal of Humblebug Jewelry at Most Everything Vintage; “Harvest Your Inner Artist” pumpkin painting and carving with fall spiced drinks at Portland Art Creations; “Celebración de Colores” at Gallery 360 by Susan Mamolejo Kipp; a local art exhibit and silent auction at Wattle Tree Place; and portraits by Nolan Jameson at Top Shelf Martinis on Main.
But that’s only a small sampling of everything that will be happening this Friday. Vancouver’s Arts District will be overflowing with original artwork for sale in every medium. Shops and galleries will be open late. And whenever you post a fabulous picture of downtown Vancouver on your social media, be sure to tag it with #dtVANwa so everyone else can see what’s so fabulous about the Couve!
