English Estate Winery 111th Anniversary

May 10, 2014 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

It's English Estate Winery's 111th anniversary, and Clark County's oldest winery is planning a celebration with music, wine, and food from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. Take a guided tour of the vineyard and historic buildings at 1 p.m. or 3 p.m., then enjoy live music by Tom Man from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Drop by the Loafing Shed Tasting Room to sip the season's new wines and take part in the annual "BiBBFest," where you get to design your own "Bag in a Beautiful Box" and vote on your favorite label.

English Estate is probably best known for sweet wines, such as its excellent and cleverly named Port of Vancouver, as well as for its Pinot Noir. However, the occasion of the winery's 111th anniversary calls for a little branching out and broadening of horizons, so go ahead and sample all their wines. (Plus, when you buy a bottle, the $5 tasting fee is applied toward your purchase.)

Admission to the anniverary celebration is free—and if you're still looking for the perfect Mother's Day gift, bring Mom back any time from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, when the first 24 mothers to visit the winery will receive a free rose. Go to www.englishestatewinery.com for more details about weekly events like "Good Times & Wine" on Friday nights and "Game Night" on Mondays.
