Empty Bowls Project: Art & a Meal
December 1, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm$20
While you’re enjoying a season of plenty, it seems a good time to practice generosity toward those who don’t always have enough. The Empty Bowl Project is coming to the North Bank in a partnership between the Woodland Action Center and the Woodland High School Art Club, culminating in an event on Thursday, Dec. 1, that combines art…and the art of giving back.
The Empty Bowls Project is a nationwide undertaking that creates and sells handcrafted bowls as a symbol of people in need and as a means to help fund local services. The Woodland High School Art Club has created hundreds of beautiful ceramic bowls to be used at a special luncheon at Woodland High School. Tickets include a handcrafted bowl and a meal of soup and bread donated by Guadalajara, Rosie’s Restaurant, and Kalama Sourdough Bakery. Proceeds will benefit local families in need through the Woodland Action Center Food Bank. Local artists will also be showcasing their work and attendees can talk with them, learn more about the art they create, and be able to bid on their work in a silent auction.
Tickets are $20 per person, available through Eventbrite. The meal will be held at Woodland High School, 1550 Dike Access Road in Woodland, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1. For more information, call the Woodland Action Center at 360-225-9998 or email email@example.com.
