Earth Day on the Waterfront

April 22, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Port of Camas-Washougal will host an Earth Day activity right on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Everyone is invited to participate in a litter cleanup along the waterfront property, at the site of the new park and trail which will be constructed this year. Participants can park inside the waterfront property access gate located at the south end of 2nd Street. Trash bags, latex gloves and light refreshments will be provided. All ages are welcome, especially families with children; this is a marvelous way to encourage the younger generation to care for the North Bank’s amazing natural resources and outdoor recreational areas.

The Port of Camas-Washougal brings jobs and recreational opportunities to the North Bank through a 400-acre industrial park, a 79-hangar general aviation airport and 350-slip pleasure boat marina. The marina is the largest publicly owned marina on the Washington side of the Columbia River and has a floating floating restaurant (Puffin Cafe, with smiley-face fries for the kids and super-yummy piña coladas for the adults), launch ramp, nearby hotel, fueling station, electricity on the breakwater/guest dock, and it’s also the homeport to the Dolphin Yacht Club. The port also manages Captain William Clark Park at Cottonwood Beach and the adjacent protective levee and Parkersville National Historic Site. The port recently acquired 13.25 acres of waterfront property and that’s what will be cleaned up on Wednesday. To learn more about the port, visit www.portcw.com.
