Camas First Friday: Spring Into History

April 4, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The theme for Camas First Friday is "Spring Into History," and—as the name suggests—will celebrate the history of this charming riverside town. Here are some questions you might find answers to during the "History Hunt" activity: Why is the city called Camas? Where did the big trees on Fourth Ave. come from? What famous Portland man founded the mill? Collect a fact at each store you visit, and win prizes from downtown merchants.

You'll also want to visit the libary's Second Story Gallery, where you'll see art from photographer Cindy Kassab. Other family activities include mustache-making and papercrafts with photos, face painting, guessing what famous (or semi-famous) figures hail from Camas in the Legacy Squares game, estimating the number of Peeps in a jar, and a toilet paper toss in honor of the Camas Paper Mill. Wear a vintage hat or clothes and get a free ticket! Or visit Lil' Dudes and Divas children's consignment shop to have your photo taken with old-timey props. For complete information, visit this page on the Downtown Camas Association's ebsite.
