Artist’s Reception: Photographic Journey Through India & Nepal
February 5, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Here’s something unusual and perhaps a little exotic to do during the short, chilly month of February: visit Gallery 360 and imagine yourself in the humid, spice-scented climes of far-off India and Nepal. This landmark downtown Gallery, located in the historic Slocum House at the southwest corner of Esther Short Park, invites you to its February show, “Claire Larkins’ Photographic Journey through India and Nepal.”
Larkins is a 2014 graduate of Battle Ground High School and a junior at Western Washington University, majoring in sustainable design. As a high school senior, Larkins was part of a group photography exhibit at Gallery 360, under the direction of her high school photography teacher. Now, the public is invited to see Larkins’ new work, which visually documents her travels through the Indian subcontinent, from Wednesday, Feb. 3, through Sunday, Feb. 28.
For a chance to meet Larkins in person and ask her questions about her photographs, come to the First Friday Artist’s Reception from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5. Attendees will enjoy complimentary refreshments and live music by pianist Linda Smith. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission to the gallery is free.
