American Atlas at Angst Gallery

December 1, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

The Portland Playhouse, Clark County Poet Laureate Christopher Luna, Angst Gallery, and Printed Matter Vancouver present “American Atlas: A Reading” by storyteller Rob Katsuno. American Atlas is a one-man show, written by and starring Rob Katsuno and directed by Nikki Weaver of Portland Playhouse. The performance will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, at Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St. in downtown Vancouver.

American Atlas depicts an Asian American conformist struggling to form his identity. Katsuno’s storytelling employs humor to explore the intersection of multiculturalism and America’s aspirational culture. His laugh-out-loud experiences—from his humble youth to a stint as an investment banker to his marriage to his Brazilian wife—serve as both a critique and soaring celebration of what makes America great. To learn ore about Katsuno, visit www.robkatsuno.com.

There will be a reception at Niche Wine & Art Bar (located right next door to Angst) immediately after the reading with appetizers and beverages provided by Ameriprise.
