Phyllis Corwin will be the featured artist at Camas Gallery now through Thursday, Nov. 30. Corwin is a seasoned painter who resides in Washougal with her husband of almost 50 years. She was a belly dancer, teacher, director, and costume designer for 25 years and has been painting and teaching for over 20 years. Corwin travels the world with her palette, painting exotic animals. Famous for her subject’s striking eyes—portrayals of big cats intensely staring down prey—Corwin continues to capture amazing detail with her brush-strokes. The show at Camas Gallery also includes several beautiful bird portraits. You can see more of her art on her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/phyllis.corwin.
A First Friday art reception will take place at the Camas Gallery from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, with light refreshments. The reception is free and open to the public, and is an excellent opportunity to meet the artist in person and see her work up close. All the paintings and prints shown in the gallery are for sale. Camas Gallery, located at 408 N.E. 4th Ave. in downtown Camas, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, call 360-817-2415, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit Facebook.com/CamasGallery.
