Boomerang Fine Arts—the extensive upstairs and downstairs gallery space located inside Boomerang, the coffee shop, event space, and consignment shop in downtown Vancouver—is pleased to host local artist Tom Relth for the First Friday Art Walk on Nov. 3. Relth’s studio, which is on Boomerang’s lower level, is also party of the Clark County Open Studios Tour on Nov. 11-12. Relth’s works will be displayed at Boomerang until Monday, Nov. 13.
The exhibit, “Contemporary Landscape,” showcases 50-plus of Relth’s color-rich paintings, including many of his large-scale works. “We have exhibited nearly two thousand artworks from local and regional artists,” notes Relth, who has served as Boomerang’s Artist-in-Residence and gallery curator for the past two years. “The exhibitions have traversed various media and subject matter (paper, fibre arts, painting, sculpture, photography, etc.) hoping to draw an ever greater audience to the Boomerang concept. Now, it’s my opportunity to exhibit my own work.”
Boomerang will celebrate Relth’s exhibit and his participation in the Open Studios Tour with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. on First Friday, Nov. 3. Guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments and a special free photo booth featuring Trung Phan Photography. Boomerang is located at 808 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. Regular hours are Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for First Fridays, when Boomerang stays open until 9 p.m.
The Clark County Open Studios Tour is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12. Tom Relth is No. 8 on the tour. Tour maps are available at every studio on the tour and online at www.ccopenstudios.org. It is free to participate and children are welcome.
