Calling all goblins, ghoulies, super-heroes, princesses, warriors and Other Beings, ages five to 12: the Vancouver Art Space, #206 at the Vancouver Mall, invites you to “The Most Amazingly Creative Halloween Mask Event,” where you will decorate a one-of-a-kind mask to wear on Halloween. Halloween music and surprises are in store for event participants.
Your mask will be displayed (if you’d like) at the Vancouver Mall during the week before Halloween. There will be valuable prizes from the Vancouver Art Space for first, second, and third place winners…and visitors to the Vancouver Mall will have a chance to vote for a prize-winning People’s Choice Award.
Open spots are limited, so your parent should register you for one of the event times offered between Saturday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 21. You’ll have up to one and a half hours to decorate your mask, and your parent will be your Earthly Helper. You must bring your parent to attend. The cost to decorate a mask is $8.
For selection of special prize winners, a panel of judges will take into account your child’s age-appropriate level of skill. Other criteria include creativity, most effective choice of materials (all materials are supplied by Vancouver Art Space), and quality of production.
Visit www.vancouverartspace.com for details and to register for the event, or call 360–787-8772. The Vancouver Art Space offers classes and workshops in a variety of media, and is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
