Heisen House Vineyards invites you to join the excitement of the fall grape harvest at its annual Crush Festival, happening from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30—followed by an evening of live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Grape crushing will start at 2 p.m., when Heisen House vintners will start making wine right in front of you, running the equipment, and explaining the whole glorious process. There will be music, food, an Artist and Merchant Market, wine making demonstrations, wine tasting, fresh grapes for munching, craft activities for the kids, and more. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about winemaking, this is your chance to see it up close and personal. It’s also a family-friendly event where you can bring the kids and spend the whole afternoon!
Admission is free, but there’s a suggested donation of $5 per adult or $3 per child; all donations will go towards repairing and restoring the Heisen property’s historic barn. In fact, the whole vineyard is of historical significance: the Henry Heisen House and related outbuildings are a State and National Historic Site. Heisen House is located about 10 minutes northeast of Battle Ground at 28005 N.E. 172nd Ave., not too far from the Heisen Bridge over the East Fork Lewis River.
