The new Wattle Tree Place in downtown Vancouver will host a Silent Art Auction on Oct. 6, 7, and 8—and they need your art to sell! The event’s goal is to provide a platform for local artists who may have limited resources to display and sell their art. On Sunday evening, the auction’s culmination, guests will enjoy wine and whiskey tastings and live music. Food will be available to buy.
During the first two days, the public can view the works on display and make silent bids for any piece they like (forms will be available on-site). The prices will vary from piece to piece and will be determined by the artist. Bids can be received until 4 p.m. on the day of the auction—Sunday, Oct. 8—and successful bidders will be able to collect their pieces on that evening of the auction. Guests will also be able to view all the works in a catalogue, which will be available online and also at Wattle Tree Place on the evening of the auction. A percentage of the sale price (as agreed upon by the artist) will go to Wattle Tree Place. If you’re interested in submitting art, call Suzanne Wegecsanyi at 925-336-4056 by the end of the day on Monday, Sept. 18. (Final art doesn’t need to be submitted then—this is just to register your interest in submitting one or more pieces.)
