The Kiggins Theatre is the perfect location for the next performance in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Series at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19. The VSO Chamber Orchestra will play live accompaniment to three groundbreaking but not often seen silent comedies: “One Week,” a 1920s film starring Buster Keaton; “Fatty & Mabel Adrift,” a film from 1916 featuring Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle and Mabel Normand; and “Gertie the Dinosaur,” from 1914, created by and starring Winsor McCay, an American cartoonist and animation pioneer.
This event provides the perfect opportunity for concert attendees not only to watch the presentation in comfortable surroundings, but also enjoy wine, beer, soft drinks and refreshments. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are available for these and all 2017 events at vancouversymphony.org or 360-735-7278. The Kiggins Theatre is located at 1011 Main St. in downtown Vancouver. Immediately following the concert, a food and drink reception will commence next door to the theater at Niche Wine Bar. The reception is open to all concert attendees.
