Earl Hamilton will be the featured artist at Attic Gallery in March, with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on First Friday, March 3. The reception is free and open to the public and includes complimentary refreshments and live music. Best of all, guests to this longtime gallery of contemporary art will have a chance to see Hamilton doing live painting demonstrations; this is a rare opportunity to see a master artist at work!
Hamilton’s unique abstract paintings on canvas are bold, colorful and powerful, expressing innovative and subtly emotional energy. He creates intriguing texture by layering acrylics and using collage materials in many of his abstract works. Some of his paintings are filled with a kind of whimsical lightness, reflected in images such as castles, clowns, children, animals, and Chagall-like lovers. Whether abstract or whimsical, Hamilton’s work is simultaneously meditative, mystical, energetic, and bold.
