Although 2016 wasn’t a very funny year in any literal sense, in terms of material for stand-up comedy, it was—and continues to be, perhaps unfortunately—a goldmine. What is definitely fortunate is that the North Bank has a bevy of local comedians who are ready to get up on stage and make you laugh, even while real life may make you want to cry a little. There’s the monthly Comedy On Tap at the Kiggins Theater, and now there’s a stand-up comedy series at the Old Liberty Theatre in downtown Ridgefield.
The Old Liberty’s next stand-up comedy night is Saturday, Jan. 28, hosted by Don Frost with special guest Lonnie Bruhn and featuring other local and regional comedians. The doors will open at 6:45 p.m. so you can grab snacks, wine, or beer from Seasons Cafe in the lobby, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, available at the door on the night of the performance or by calling 360-887-7260.
