Skip the trick-or-treating this year and come to an aviation harvest party at the Pearson Field Education Center! The free, family-friendly Halloween Hanger event is happening from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 (that’s Halloween night, dontcha know). This is a one-stop evening of good ghoulish fun, hands-on activities, candy bags and party favors—plus plenty of open cockpit action where kids can experience what it’s like to be in the pilot’s seat. There’s no registration necessary, no charge or admission fee, and everyone is welcome.
Here’s what you can look forward to: making whirly-gigs and watching them dance in the vertical wind tunnel, building a glider or balloon-powered car, playing games for candy and favors, playing the remote control plane program on the large-screen TV, and experiencing the fun of flying in the flight simulator lab. (You can’t get THAT while trick-or-treating in your neighborhood!)
Pearson Field Education Center is located at 201A E. Reserve St. in Vancouver, near Fort Vancouver. The Pearson Hanger will also be open as usual for the Open Saturday program, but with reduced hours from 1 to 3 p.m. For more details, call Deborah Bessette at 360-992-1815.
