Here’s something better than your average car show: cars AND planes. And it’s free! Plus there’s free hot dogs, chips, and soda! It’s the Port of Camas-Washougal‘s Wheels & Wings Community Appreciation Day, and it’s happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Grove Field Airport. Bring the entire family to see classic cars, vintage airplanes, trucks, motorcycles, and even old-time tractors…and to feast on juicy, just-grilled hot dogs. It’s just the Port of Camas-Washougal’s way of saying “thank you” to the community for its support.
There will also be live music by the Fabulous Farelanes, food vendors (in case hot dogs aren’t enough), and children’s activities, including a bounce house, face painting, and balloon animals. Dash plaques for car-and-airplane show entries will be available and prizes will be awarded in 15 categories. The event is free, but donations are welcome and will go to support the Camas Washougal Aviation Association‘s scholarship fund. If you’ve got a classic car to show, you can register at the event for $15, or you can register in advance for $10 by calling Angelina at 360-335-3676. For more information, visit portcw.com.
