Aevum Images—the award-winning high-end photography studio in downtown Vancouver—will feature the work of Vancouver mixed-media artist and political cartoonist Monte Wolverton during a special First Friday Open House and Artist’s Reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 1. You’ll be able to see just a small part of his collected works: vibrant, playful paintings, sculptures, ceramic creations, and colorfully upcycled art pieces. Wolverton himself will be there to to answer questions and to discuss his art, his process, and his inspiration.
Wolverton is an internationally syndicated editorial cartoonist whose work occasionally appears in The Columbian. His fine art has been exhibited in galleries all along the West Coast, from Portland to Los Angeles. He’s also the son of renowned Vancouver cartoonist, Basil Wolverton, whose drawings and comic strips were featured in hundreds of comic books, including MAD Magazine (and Monte’s work has also been featured in MAD).
